Swift Nature Camp is a summer camp for boys and girls ages 6-15. We are located 2.5 hours Northeast of Minneapolis Mn. Our focus is to blend traditional summer camp activities with an appreciation for nature and the environment. At camp a child's education occurs outside the classroom. We use traditional camp activities to challenge each child to be a citizen within a camp community. This promotes campers to increase their Self-esteem, Independent thinking, Initiative, all this while while having FUN and being part of community that create lifelong friends...

Swift Nature Camp provides a greater appreciation of the Environment and respect for its peoples through:

Location

The northwest corner of Wisconsin, one hour south of Duluth Min.

Site

The camp is located on a heavily wooded 80 acre site with nearly 1/2 mile of sandy lake shore. Contiguous to camp is a county forest, perfect for overnight camping.

Campers

Camp is open to all boys & girls ages 6-15. Campers come from all parts of the country and around the world. Enrollment is limited to a total of 100 campers.

Sessions

Our Session lengths are Two, Three & Six weeks, plus an additional Canadian Canoe Adventure is available. Sessions begin in mid June and costs starts at $500/week.

1st Timer Camp

Discovery Camp is our 12 Day Program that is especially designed to meet the needs of the First Time Camper. We limit camp size to only 72 campers with 26 staff members. This ensures that every camper gets the attention required to guarantee that their first camp stay is a great one

Activities

Sports are played for fun rather than competition. Offered are: Traditional Camping, Horseback Riding, Arts & Crafts, Archery, Softball, Volleyball, Basketball, Computers, Team Course.

Waterfront

The camp is located on a 1/2 mile of sandy beach on the Minong Flowage. This 1650 acre lake is clear and perfect for Canoeing, Sailing,Water Skiing, Scuba, Fishing,Water Slide & Trampoline. Campers achieve Red Cross Swimming Certification.

Science

Hands on Environmental Education is taught in a fun way, including: Water testing, Animal care, Stars, Weather, Animal tracking, Life cycles, Geology, and more.

Education

Educational tutoring is available in most subjects including: Reading, Spelling, Math, Science.

Health Care

A Nurse is on site 24 hours a day. A doctors' clinic is located 5 miles away and two hospitals are less than 20 miles away.

Staff

Our staff comes from all over the world. Many of them are teachers or are studying to be teachers. All are over 18 are background checked and given a drug test plus undergo extensive training before being a counselor.

Housing

Campers live in modern cabins, complete with heat and electricity. A maximum of 10 campers of the same age and gender live with 2 counselors in each cabin.
