"Swift Nature Camp's top priority is to create the safest environment possible for all to learn and grow," The Camp RN says. "All camp personnel are trained to be vigilant in their supervision of campers. Staff meetings regularly analyze potential problems and address them. Our goal is to maintain health and safety of campers and to promote optimum wellness of mind, body, and spirit."

Our Health and Safety Director (Mary Ann) is a registered nurse who handles basic health care and distributes all prescribed medications. For more serious situations, a well-staffed health clinic is just five miles away, and two hospitals are within 20 miles of the camp. Clear medical protocols have been developed, and Swift Nature Camp notifies the parents if a child is spending the night in the Health Center or needs additional medical attention.

Total wellness is best provided by development of a campers positive self esteem, building friendships, and having FUN. Physical needs are met as well, including: good hygiene, lots of exercise, and plenty of rest. Our menu is also healthy, while still being foods that kids will enjoy. We offer a salad bar at lunch and dinner that includes a choice of fresh vegetables and salads. Vegetarian entrees are available for those who prefer meatless meals. For those between meal snacks, fresh fruit is always available.
