With over 50 recreational camp activities to choose from, our campers have plenty of time to run around and use their extra energy. Camp water activities include: swimming, sailing, canoeing, fishing, and tubing. Land activities include: arts & crafts, horseback riding, archery, sports for fun & team course just to mention a few. SNC special activities have: Lego, clowning, and slingshots. We also offer out of camp hiking, backpacking  or canoeing trips.  With all this going on, campers never miss their technology or connection to the internet.

As parents we know the benefits of animals on our child's development.
These include:
-Animals can teach empathy
-A pet can teach confidence and responsibility
-Animals can help socialize children and increase verbal skills
-Pets can help teach a child how to deal with anger and fear
So when you have a animal summer camp filled with these sorts of children you have more nice kids filled with kindness and less bullies, all of which help build a more positive summer camp experience.

Many of the science activities are part of Nature Quest, the award-winning environmental program designed by the World Wildlife Federation. Thus creating an amazing Wildlife Science Camp. Our Nature Center, zoo camp provides a dynamic setting for learning as campers find themselves doing science experiments, conducting environmental testing, learning about the local wildlife, or participating in our camp recycling program, We use worms. A unique pond aquarium, known as Kermit's House, gives kids a chance to see pond life from a frog's point of view, while our Nature's neighbors live animal collection provides opportunities for up-close study and care of several common Northwoods residents, as well as a few exotic immigrants. Campers with their own small animals are encouraged to bring them to camp to share with others. The animals live in the Nature Center and camp Zoo, where all campers can enjoy and learn about them. As part of our environmental education, campers can even adopt the pets while they are at camp.

Not only do kids have fun and build connections with the zoo animals, but they learn about habitat management, birds of prey, local amphibians and mammals of the Northwoods and much more. These sessions are taught by our resident Nature Center Director or by the Wisconsin DNR and the U.S. Park Service rangers.  Hands-on environmental learning program happens not only at the camp zoo, but includes field trips, to a fish hatchery and state parks. Field projects, like goose banding, loon and butterfly counts happen at specific times of the year. In addition, exciting camp presentations, ranging from visits with live owls to learning how professionals manage a forest fire take place during our camp session.

We believe that with a child's natural curiosity, experimentation and discovery, rather than a classroom lecture, we entice children to learn about and play outdoors in NATURE. Swift Nature Camp places a very strong emphasis not only on developing a desire to know more about nature, but also on acquiring a deep respect for it. Our Environmental Education philosophy is to engage children in meaningful, fun-filled learning through active participation. We focus on a campers natural curiosity and self-discovery. This Animal Camp is NOT School.

Come and see why our Animal summer camp is the best choice for your animal loving child. It is more than our summer camp activities, it is our sense of a family.
