Meet the Directors of Swift Nature Camp
Meet Lonnie & Jeff - The Owners & Directors
We love Swift Nature Camp. For us, camp is a way of life. It always brings us joy to see our campers grow and develop each summer at camp. It's like having one huge extended family spread throughout the world that reunites each summer in the north woods of Wisconsin.
Over our 20 years of experience at SNC, we have enjoyed helping thousands of children make memories of a lifetime with their new friends. We create a culture at Swift Nature Camp that focuses on a healthy balance of creative fun with appreciation for others and our environment all in a safe, supportive, and aesthetically beautiful environment.
At SNC we strive to make summer camp your "happy place" maybe thats why our campers return year after year. We once received a story from a mom where she said "We have to start thinking about camp" and the child immediately went upstairs and started packing. The funny thing is...it was February with still months to go till camp started. That is an example of how much our campers look forward to being at camp.
Our goal is to encourage you to TRY your best - you don't have to BE the best. It is our belief that when you have a cabin of kids encouraging and supporting you to try new things you will want to try your best, even if it is a little bit scary. With friends around even the scary seems OK because you know they will be there for you.
Jeff spent eight summers at Camp Minocqua and completed the American Camping Association Director course in 1994. He is currently an American Red Cross Certified Lifeguard Instructor, Water Safety Instructor and First Aid and CPR Instructor. He served as Vice President of the Midwest Association of Independent Camps. He also sat on the local board of the American Camping Association. Jeff loves the outdoors and enjoys sharing his enthusiasm for camp life with everyone.
