When you join the community of Swift Nature Camp it might seem a bit overwhelming with 80 or so children at camp. Yet it is your cabin with no more than 10 campers that will be your home during your stay. These boy or girls will be your core group, kinda like a family. You will spend a majority of your time with these brothers or sisters, eating, playing and working together as a cabin to enjoy camp to the fullest.
Living in a cabin is not always an easy task, it requires some getting used to. As part of the cabin team you will be encouraged to help make cabin decisions, be responsible for your personal items, and support and encourage your cabin mates.
One thing almost every SNC camper agrees with is that when you live with folks you get to know them better, you know what makes them tick. The shared experiences of camp help to buid long lasting friendships. You will be amazed that by the end of the session you will know your camp friends better than you know your back home friends.
Your cabin will build it’s own spirit and character because each cabin member brings something special to the group. This cabin identity may be displayed in many ways, including cabin decorations, songs and cheers, dress up days, themed meals, campfire skits, mustaches and who knows what crazy spin your cabin will bring to life while you're here. You have the power to help influence your cabin mates by a silly song or maybe even a funny joke. You just don’t know what will catch on.
What you will find is your cabin filled with kindness and respect will bring you back to SNC year after year.
